THE 10/40 SOURCING NETWORK

The world and access to the least reached of the globe are changing.

How can you play a role in what God is doing across the world?

Being a traditional “missionary” alone in many places in the world is either no longer possible or is growing increasingly difficult. How can God’s giftings to each believer be leveraged for His Kingdom purposes?

At 10/40 Sourcing we believe that through sustainable, scalable, and profitable business opportunities, there is no limit to church planting efforts across the world.

Our Vision

To build a sourcing network across the 10/40 window enabling profitable, scalable business opportunities for overseas workers, BAM practitioners, and local believers.

r

Problem #1:

When someone desires to live in a cross-cultural setting for Kingdom purposes in the 10/40 window, many people move overseas with a sending organizaiton. These individuals then need to adjust to the culture, usually learn a language, and many times adjust to a team life. On top of these they then need a sustainable way to stay in the country long-term. This is usually some sort of business.

Trying to balance all of these items while trying to be excellent at all of them can lead to the unfortunate outcome of being excellent at none of them.  Or worse, it often leads to burnout. How can these needs be addressed?

r

Problem #2:

Overseas workers many times start a business, or look to be involved with one. For BAM (Business as Mission) and B4T (Business for Transformation) practitioners this is a must.

These businesses need growth in order to enable their community impact for God’s Kingdom. But how can they bring in business when they are living overseas? What business should they start? Do they need to raise capital for their venture? Not every person is gifted to be an entrepreneur. And we don’t believe every person should be.

Our Business: Product Sourcing

How We Address These Problems: Sourcing Products from Across the 10/40 Window

Why Sourcing?

Sourcing (defined in short as, “finding products to manufacture overseas and purchase”) is a low-overhead venture that can enable one person to remain in a location for multiple months or years. Through the sourcing of products, it will enable overseas workers and business men and women to potentially live and work in nearly any location in the world. All it depends on is the product.

We connect companies with vetted overseas factories across the 10/40 window to enable quality products to be manufactured. We provide local on-the-ground support to ensure products pass inspection and meeting the quality needs of the end customer. Through providing these services we can enable others in their desire to plant churches across the 10/40

How Does This Enable Kingdom Work?

Our Method: Enabling Others

We call these, “Enabling Streams.” Ways to enable believers to continue to play a role in what God is doing across the world among the least reached and the unreached.

We have broken this down into three separate “streams” that can involve as many people as possible.

Enabling Stream #1

A company (the, “Buyer”) will have a product they are looking to source and manufacture overseas. They will then engage the services of 10/40 Sourcing Network. 10/40 Sourcing will then work to get quotes through it’s network and manage the order once placed.

These orders will then need:

  1. Factory Visits
  2. Quality Control Checks
  3. On-the-ground Support and Communication

10/40 Sourcing will then involve an overseas worker or a BAM/B4T Practitioner to facilitate the order in that country, providing training experience as needed. (See Fig 1 and Fig 2)

As the order volumes increase, more suppliers are engaged with to meet the demand and the products needed. Each supplier then brings an opportunity for an individual to handle that order along with the relationship for the Buyer. (See Fig 3)

Enabling Stream #2

Enabling Steam #2: BAM and B4T Companies.

There are many BAM or B4T companies who have factories overseas.

These entities are trying to grow so they can hire people directly and play a role in transforming their communities. Some of which are raise the quality of life of the local community, and by engaging this community with the gospel. They desire to see the gospel, through business, transform people’s lives and to see churches planted and multiply.

10/40 Sourcing Network believes that by sourcing products from these companies, it can help enable them to grow as a business and as a transformational power for the gospel in their communities. This is our Enabling Steam #2. We hope to bring more companies in to purchase the products of these overseas BAM/B4T businesses because of the quality and value of these products, not only because of the vision of their business.

10/40 Sourcing can then provide other services to these entities as we manage the orders with them. (See Fig. 4)

Enabling Stream #3

Enabling Stream #3: Leveraging Expertise of Individuals to Help Expand the Sourcing Network.

Enabling Stream #3 is how 10/40 Sourcing envisions using the skills, knowledge, and gifting of people with technical expertise for God’s Kingdom. Specifically in the sourcing industry. These people can either be hired by 10/40 Sourcing or they can help provide training to others through 10/40 Sourcing. As the network grows, this enables us to expand into new countries and cities, thus providing opportunities for more people and more entities.

What is Your Role?

We work with three main roles:

1. Businesses

2. Organizations and Churches

3. Individuals

Role: Businesses

At 1040 Sourcing Network we believe that real business is the foundation to everything.

1. Do you own, or work for, a company that produces products overseas?

2. Or for a company that could potentially produce products overseas?

We want to help companies improve their bottom-line by sourcing overseas, all while enabling impact for God’s Kingdom. Our goal is to provide profitable solutions for all parties involved. Real business provides real opportunities for Kingdom impact. Please see our product categories and countries below to get an idea of how we can assist.

Role: Organizations and Churches

If you represent an organization or a church,  you can partner with us in these different ways:

1. Leverage your network: In your network of staff, partners, investors, or friends, there are people who are part of businesses who could source products overseas. The opportunities are exponential. These leads will then help the network grow.

2. Involve your people. We are committed to enabling one thing:  Church planting within the 10/40 window. This allows us to work with any organization and any church. If your organization or group has someone looking to move overseas, or has people already overseas, we will then work to get them visas into a country through a sourcing project, or help them stay longer.

3. Partner with us. Become a group that shares about what we are doing. When you bring a client, 10/40 Sourcing will then train your people and involve them directly to handle those specific projects.

Role: Individuals

Do you desire to live and work overseas?

You do not have to be with any specific organization.

Ways you can be involved:

1. Intern with us! As we grow, we will be looking to bring people to intern with our company.

2. We will handle all of the backend services to allow you to come overseas. If you bring a buyer or company interested in doing business overseas, we will also have you manage that project to as much of an extent as possible.

3. Travel to different locations on our behalf to investigate suppliers and business potential

4. Potential full-time employment overseas down the road
